The door of the bathroom at my uncles house has bars at the bottom for air ventilation.

So it happens that my nephew was staying with us that night.
And as I went in the bathroom and locked the door behind me, the little guy followed and knelt down at the vent.

「丞丞不要偷看姑姑洗澡」
To which he said nothing (he's 26 months old).
He started making noises with the vent as my uncle and aunt told him not to look at me while I'm going to shower. But to no avail. He does seem like he was looking at something intent. I couldn't tell what but started to think this is not right...
「丞丞你到底在幹嘛？！」
To which he, finally getting up and toddled away, said in the most adorable voice :
「偷看！」and giggled.
I just taught him a new word...

SUCH A PIE! :)

10/10 Taiwans National Day

卓莉 is packed as usual
Ordered their smoked ribs that were marinated (so deliciously) with heavy spice
And two glasses of self-brewed beer

Shinchon spicy chicken with cheese (its not as good as it looks)

Inssadong (Ssamziegil) - old stores selling writing brush, traditional tea pots, and ceramic goodies



Dongdaemong malls just like mongkok - clothes hanging on the walls, prices cheaper than myeongdong
We had Korean BBQ for dinner. Surprised, most of the waitresses were Chinese.

Bus stop information all in Korean, didnt know which stop to get off
Korean girl sitting behind us asked us where we're going in Chinese @@" shocked
Realized we can't talk shit since lots of people know some Chinese
But glad we got help or else we'd ended up lost!

Met a lot of their friends, co-teachers from thailand, shenzhen, south of so. korea, a couple from Denver, Colorado etc. Sophia is a 9 year old who smiles and giggles like an angel. She told us she only like to hug her mom, her dad (thomas?) and my friend, and she felt eh when rob tried to hug her (teehee). Such a bright child, don't mind talking to strangers and she kept telling me i look korean and i'm "ippuda". Even started talking to me in korean couple of times and realized i couldn't understand her. Shes really a sweetheart :).

Back to Myeongdong, Seoul.
Nice place to shop! Korean BBQ again!

Had spicy chicken (rice) for breakfast. SO much better than the one in Shinchon

Met up with another friend for lunch, had samgetang (Ginseng chicken soup)


Had a wonderful time. Friend kept telling me ginseng makes a fantastic night. Lol

On another note, foreigners have lower wages in so. Korea, that's why the surge of Chinese people.
Local people earn 4,000 won /hr, ~1,500 /month (1/3 higher than us in Taiwan...)
Also it was normal for them to want to move to other countries.
Work culture sucks...no one leaves before the boss, they'd always have to pretend they are busy with work.
Am glad she didn't change one tid bit :)

"He's very conservative. But he told me he wanted to dye his hair just like mine, and he wanted to go clubbing with me. I think it's against his moral values."
"We watched a movie, and drank some wine." "And then? You guys went to bed?" "We were already in bed, we drank in bed." "Ohhhhhh"
"Emma, finish that ginseng, you'll have a fantastic night tonight." The ginseng talk.

I haven't laughed this much in one day. Thank you sweetie -3-.

Girls wear a lot on top, because its considered too much (almost slutty) to the guys if you wear too little. I'm guessing that's why they wear short skirts/ shorts.
I think I look Korean because Korean people asked me for directions, and others talked to me in Korean.

Dream: Lucy is that you?

My bro and I were by a swimming pool.

A super big python appeared out of nowhere in the pool. It was yellow with white spots, just like Lucy from Singapore.
Lucy was supposed to be mellow and friendly...
Anyway.
It had a companion too, a bright green snake, a lot smaller in size.

My brother jumped into the swimming pool saying it'll be fun while I kept telling him to get out of the water.
He ignored me and swam merrily in circles. And I, too, followed him by the pool rim.

At one point the two snakes swam towards my brother and I knew something bad would happen.
I turned away just like I would when there's a horror scene on the movies, but still see the silhouette of the python's fangs ready to attack.
I ran to the emergency phone on the wall and was caught dumbfounded because there were 5+ different set of numbers to dial for different departments. Fuck.

The Hunger Games

So my new year's resolution (could have posted this earlier) which i had to make up on the spot while my boss asked me during lunchtime one day was... to read at least one book every month.

Up till last weekend I've only read one in the past three months... (:P oops) which was the minds of billy

...until I saw this movie this past saturday

And I'm already finishing up the last of the trilogy, less than a week!

woot! it's quite addicting :P

Oh btw, to all the racists out there....

Dream

There was this time when my family were at the office and prepared to leave for home. My brother and I were chasing around the empty space between the elevator and the office when my brother stepped on a nail. The two-inch nail went through the sole of his shoe and into his foot. Bloody.

I dreamt of the hole that the nail left was hollower and wider from what I've remembered. The bones should be visible by the time of the injury if it was that big. And it was at the heel when it supposedly should be right in the center.
My bro had a flesh-like cushion inserted that should probably make it more comfortable to walk in.

Very weird dream...

Moon (2009)

Finished the movie before work and I couldn't stop thinking about it the whole morning.

Fascinating. At the beginning I thought Sam was an outlaw. Memory manipulated so that he thought he was on a 3-year contract to work on the moon. But turns out he was the victim of the company he works for.

The moment Sam found out his real self is with his daughter back at home in a live call... heartbreaking. I really wish he didn't have to hear his own voice at the other end of the call. All this time of suffering and loneliness was built upon love and hopes that weren't his own.

Brilliant movie. But Gerty was an interesting part.

Gerty is programmed to conflict the interests of the company and of Sams'. Not smart for the company I guess? They probably didn't realize the extend to which Gerty will protect and help the Sams.

And the communication played an important role too...... but if Gerty could alter the signal and contact the headquarters, as a computer, why can't he just communicate via other ways not noticeable to Sam? Or I guess under the circumstances real-time communication was uncommon so Lunar didn't plan for it?

Another question is about the Sam Wells. I read on someone elses' blogs about the comings of the clones. Does the original Sam Well know about his clones? He must have served his 3 years on the moon for the taped video calls to be realistic.

But what came after? Did he agree to be cloned and kept it as a secret, being part of the company's plan and receiving benefits from it?

Was it greed?

Or was he not part of the game? Then what happens when the orginal Sam finds out he has a clone, a clone that is his own self 15 years earlier?

What a masterpiece. It left me in awe.

Another dream I dreamt before the two previous ones

So many within a week!
That night i was at robin's
His mom made a drink with jinsen and dried dragon eye in it

So I dreamt:
Me and the auntie were looking out of the window from my room

The dream I dreamt before I dreamt the dream in the previous post

I started doing the puzzle on Mucha's Gismonda two nights before
And this particular night I ended the night having completed the uncanny looking statue that was under the stage Gismonda was standing on

It's eyes were hollow, and scary
I can't bear to look at it for more than a second

The night before:

The octopus from spongebob
Was an evil doctor
Standing in between two other people
Faces I've forgotten
Pulls out a needle from his white gown
Either stabs/injects both
And they fell to the ground
Blood all over

Evil doctor looks straight at me with the eyes of the hollow-eyed statue
Grins
Snaps the needle in half
(slow mode: on)
And while he was putting the pieces away back into his pocket
The sharp end of the needle went through his left earlobe
Self-stabbed
With a horrified look
He, too, dropped to his feet
Dead

A fourth person came
Shocked to see the bodies
Kneeled down to check if anyone's alive
The wolf from Twilight appeared
(....this is the part I'm confused with)
Saw the fourth person in the awkward scene
Killed him
Walked away satisfied
Thinking he had done a good deed

Silly ppl followed behind me not knowing the more people there is, the less steadier the path
