tic toc tic toc tic...

The tic-toc-tic sounds of the second hand make me cautious of how time is running out. At this very moment. And its ticking fast. Dislike this feeling. So I removed the batteries that I just bought for the doraemon clock :( Shall invest in a digital one

October 18, he just turned 25. - by my papa on 2008/10/31

October 18, he just turned 25.

Like most of the youngman & girl, he likes shopping, got to gym, play Wii, go out with friends, talk thru the computer, MSN, sit up late at night, sometimes.....but never heard he talk about girl friends ?.........It's worry Jenny very much. Hey, he is 25 ! when Daddy and Mommy dating, we just.......

Tonight, Frankfurt is rainning and a little chilly, you can definitely see, after the financial Tsunami, the whole airport was pretty quiet, not so many people around.

Holding hot Latte at Starbuck Coffee, waiting my transit flight to Bologna, Italy for the leather fair. This time my India leather buyer has sick father at home, so I have Charlie to come with me....

It's long and boring 2 and half hours waiting, Charlie didn't talk too much, not like his father's collegue day at Feng Chia, when I was young, I......

His phone rang, all of sudden. He answer the phone with smile, try to lower down his voice, not let me hear what he is saying....

He speak Cantonese !

Who will call 2 O'clock in the morning from Hong Kong ?!

He murmured and giggled like a girl, smile so brightly and I can tell, he is so happy she called.

Charlie got a girl friend !! Wow, it's really something ! He never mentioned it to us, we thought he...... I will let Jenny know once we get off the plane..... I mean I will call immediately !!

I am, pretend keep reading my newapaper, not showing my exciting... I raised the paper a little higher, didn't want he found out I am listening......

They talk about the trip this time, the little stuffs in the office, how difficult the customer was, and something they talk I can't understand....... Ah, it's young generation's own language and I am LKK for a long time, of course !

Jenny must be very happy to know that.... I can't hear very clearly, the conversation went off and on......Hey, it's international phone, they must know how expensive for 25 minutes !! I talk to myself..... Jenny won't care and it's doesn't matter for the money now...

I am moving my chair closer, I want to hear more, but apparently he found out.... he stop talking ...

I felt embarassed, he watch me cool--ly and said " She want to talk to you !".....

What !? His girl friend want to talk to me ? I am shocked, what I am going to say, with the girl I never met ?! I am stunned 5 second.......... when I was young, at school, at church... I talked to the new girls 20 minutes without any problem when they first walk in the church........

I am holding my breath and very softly, handsome--ly, I think... I said " Hello ~ ".......

" Ah Pa ! What are you tring to listen !!..." she yelled......it's Emma, my little girl from Boston.....

Sarah's Key by Tatiana De Rosnay

ahhhhh....
Skipped Norwegian Wood and Glimmer....
And started Sarah's Key by Tatiana De Rosnay
It's a novel but the plot's based on true incidents happening around 1942 with Jewish families in France being deported to Auschwitz.
Happening along with this story is an American-writer who was married to France. Her editor asked her to cover the 60th anniversary of the Vél' d'Hiv' roundups, leading her to find out about Sarah, who in 1942 was one of those who got deported and her family killed in the Nazi camp.

Dream #1

Chinese people are really superstitious when it comes to dreaming of people who have passed away.
It's believed that dreams are one of the ways they communicate with us.
Questions like "Was the dream black&white or with colors?"
(Usually black and white since the person has passed away - symbolic of the past?)
"Did he/she speak?"
(Usually they don't, they remain silent in dreams, but they communicate with you through "doing" things, or in a broader context, through the story of your dream)
"Did he/she smile?"
(Again, usually they don't, they are expression-less)

Dream #1
My dream was a little different, I didn't see him in person. I received a call from him.
It was during daytime when I was attending a lecture when I got his call.
I see his picture on my phone (but in reality, I didn't put a pic in his contact info)
I hesistated.
Walked out of the lecture room.
And picked it up.

"Hello...?"
"Hey!"
I smiled.

I missed his voice. I really do.
I missed asking him if he wanted me to pick up some late-nite snack when I was on my way home.
I missed the time when he poured me a delicious cup of water when I couldn't get up. It was delicious. Warm and hot water, half-half. Man, it was the most soothing cup of water I've ever had. You might think I'm weird..but whenever I pour myself water, half warm and half hot, I think of my cousin.
And wish he was still here.

Then it was the usual how are you doing's.
He said "I missed you guys.."
"I know, and so do we..."
"I've been travelling around, and also running alot!"
:3 I like the randomness

Then shortly after we said our goodbyes and hung up.

I wanted to call back. To see if I can hear his voice again.

Blink by Malcolm Gladwell

The power of thinking without thinking.

Almost halfway through this book.

About:
Gladwell explains how we seem to "know" how things should be, or if something doesn't "seem right,"  in a blink.
There's a locked room in our brains where we make decisions without our conscious knowing, whether it be catastrophic, or, just right. He dwelves into finding the reasonings behind our conscious, back-paddling our thought process that which the whole lasted for just a millisecond.

*thumbs up*

Emily Dickinson - Not in Vain

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Bright Eyes - From a Balance Beam

There is a man holding a megaphone
So he must have been the voice of God
The bystanders claimed they saw angels
Flying up and down the block
Well, they must have been attached to wires
I saw one laying in the lawn with a broken arm
So I called 911
So that's one less founded opinion
One more cause for a dispute
So the street filled like a basin
Up with cameras and their crews
And they washed away the rumors
Leaving just the concrete truth
It was a spectacle
No, I, I mean a miracle
So then I fell like that girl from a balance beam
A gymnasium of eyes were all holding on to me
I lifted one foot to cross the other and I felt myself slipping
It was a small mistake
Sometimes that's all it takes

Now I'm staring at my wrist
Hoping that the timing is right
When the planets will align
There will be no planets to align
Just the carcass of the sun
And those little painted marbles
Spinning senseless through an endless black sky

(And so it never started and it will never stop just like I am and you are)

It was in a foreign hotel's bathtub
I baptized myself in change
And one by one I drowned all of the people I had been
I emerged to find the parallels were fewer
I was cleansed
I looked in the mirror and someone new was there
Still I was as helpless as a chess piece
When I was lifted up by someone's hand
And delivered from the corner
My enemies had got me in
But in all of my salvation I still felt imprisoned inside
That holding cell that is myself
So I wait for the day when I'll hear the key
As it turns in the lock and the guard will say to me
"Oh, my patient prisoner, you have waited for this day and finally
You are free! You are free! You are freezing"

Now I'm staring at the sun waiting for it to explode
Because a day is gonna come
Don't know when but it will come
And then we will finally know the way out of here

And I will throw away this wrinkled map
And my chart of stars and compass, cracked
And I'll climb that tree all wet with sap
To avoid the hungry beasts below
I'll cut out my lover's tongue and sing
Of a graveyard gray and a garden green
And then we won't have worry no more
No, we won't ever worry again
About how this song or story ends
About how this song and story will end

My fingers have brains...

So I was trying to summarize an English news into Chinese
I was too tired, as usual, when I opened my eyes the second time, I read what I had typed:

"A smaller mall" I wrote...while the topic was on capacitor leadtimes
I had no idea where it came from, but I vaguely remember my friend talking to me about going to a smaller mall since she had an injured knee and couldn't walk for long.

Wait no... it was a dream

I dreamt and typed :( wat da eff, are there other things I can do while sleeping
